The PMR Defenders were honored in Dubossary

Memorial rally was held at the stele installed at the Rogovskaya junction today. The bell, the cross and three granite slabs remind of the tragic events of March 14, 1992, when the special police unit OPON of Moldova made another attempt to break through the defenses of Dubossary near the roads junction in the village of Rogi and in the Koshnitsky direction. Workers of local enterprises, who were in the ranks of the people's militias, and guards came to the defense of their native city. 9 Pridnestrovian defenders were killed and more than 20 people were injured in the battle.

The memory of the heroes was honored by the Head of state administration Ruslan Chaban, Chairman of the Council of People's Deputies Alexander Kolomytsev, Minister of Defense Oleg Obruchkov, deputies of the Supreme Council Oleg Bayev and Boris German, representatives of public organizations, defenders of the republic, relatives and friends of the victims.

The Supreme Council Deputy Boris German emphasized that people's militias were created during the tragic events. The inhabitants of Pridnestrovie followed the call of their hearts to these formations in order to protect their city. There was a post at the Rogovskaya junction, consisting of employees of the Eastern Electric Networks. Valentin Frolov, a relative of Boris German was among the 9 dead defenders of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

The participants of the commemorative event laid flowers to the granite slabs.
