November 29, 2015, a single day of voting was held in Bendery as well as throughout the country. Citizens and residents of suburban villages Ghyska and Protyagailovka along with parliamentarians elected deputies of local councils. 85 people claimed 31 mandate of the Bender City Council.
The first organizational session of the City Council on the 25th, the anniversary convocation was held in Bendery today. 31 elected deputies and the heads of administrations of suburban villages, deputy of the Supreme Council of the V convocation Aleksandr Korshunov, members of the territorial and the Central Election Commission arrived to participate in the work.
A half of the current composition of the deputies of Bendery (16 people) worked in the previous convocation, which once again underlines the continuity of the representative power of the city. There are only two women out of the 31 deputies. 25 deputies have higher education. As part of the Bendery City Council there are 3 people at the age of 30, 14 people from 30 to 45 year, 13 people from 45 to 60, 1 person older than 60.
The operating mode of the first organizational session of the Bendery City Council was underlined by election of secretariat and counting commission, and later - a permanent parliamentary committee on mandates and deputy ethics. According to the decision of the deputies, it included 7 people, headed by its work the deputies charged Andrey Ivanov. This was the first issue on the agenda of the last session.
This was followed by the recognition of the credentials of all 31 trusted fellow deputies.
The next item on the agenda was the election of the chairman of the Bendery City Council. One candidate - Yuri Kara, acting head of the representative body of local government in the last convocation was represented in consideration of the deputies.
The contender for the post of head of the Bendery City Council presented colleagues some points of his program in future. According to him the focus is the liaise with the executive bodies of city government. Yuri Kara also offers an audit regulation of activities of the representative body of local authorities; develop proposals on filling the financial resources of the Fund of orders of voters. According to him, it is necessary for the deputies of the Bendery to continue to improve the existing legal framework, to monitor the work of the Housing and effective use for its operation as the budget and payments from the population. Among the proposals of Yuri Kara is the creation in the Bendery City Council of veterans council, which would include deputies of previous convocations, have unquestioned authority among the inhabitants of the city.
As a result of the secret ballot the Chairman of the Bendery City Council was elected Yuri Kara. 23 deputies voted for him, eight people have put a "tick" in the column "against all".
