Mini-football tournament dedicated to Sergei Kuznetsov was held in Bendery

Sergei Kuznetsov passed away on July 17, 2021 at the age of 46, but left a bright mark on the history of Moldavian football. He played for the Bendery club "Tighina" (Dynamo), the Tiraspol "Tiligul", defended the colors of "Kuban", played in the "Constructorule", "Academy UTM" and "Zimbru" of Chisinau, and played in the Kazakh "Okzhetpes". Kuznetsov participated in more than 300 matches. The tournament was a tribute to the football player's sporting achievements.

Teams of football veterans from the cities of Bendery, Tiraspol and the Gagauz national team competed for the Cup in this tournament. The right to first hit the ball was given to Sergei Kuznetsov’s son, Matvey. The participants played three matches, each of which consisted of two halves of 20 minutes.

The winners were determined by the number of points scored. The team of sports veterans from the city of Bendery took first place. Football players from Tiraspol took second place, and third place went to the Gagauz national team. The tournament winners were awarded cups and memorable diplomas.
