To increase the area of forests at the expense of oak groves

The forest area will be increased in Pridnestrovie at the expense of oak forests. Today, deputies of the Supreme Council in the course of the plenary session considered a program for the restoration of forest tree. The program for the conservation of forest biological resources is designed for 20 years and involves the cultivation of pedunculate oak. According to the developers of the program, this will contribute to improving the quality and productivity of the forests of Pridnestrovie.

Today the area of ​​forests in our republic is more than 30 thousand hectares. The forest cover is only 7.6%, although the best option is 12-14%. The area of ​​oak plantations is 6.1 thousand hectares. This is 29% of the total forest area. The total amount of funding for this state program, which is calculated until 2041, will amount to 22 million 672 rubles.

The deputy corps in the second, final reading supported the law-in-draft "On the approval of the state program for restoration of high-trunk oak forests on the lands of the State Forest Fund of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2021-2041".
