Clarification of the rules for medical examination

12.04.2023

Deputies of the Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare initiated amendments to the Labor Code, which clarify the norm on passing a medical examination. We are talking about employees who switch to a fixed-term employment contract upon reaching retirement age. For women it is 55 years old, for men it is 60 years old. It is not necessary in this case to undergo a preliminary medical examination, the authors of the law-in-draft consider. The opinion of colleagues was supported in the course of the plenary session. Amendments to the Labor Code were adopted in the first reading.

It was noted that during the period of work, specialists regularly undergo medical examinations, for many, for example, teachers and cooks, the frequency is 1 time in 3 or 6 months. The authors of the law-in-draft consider that workers who have reached retirement age when switching to a fixed-term employment contract will not have to go through it again, as in employment, since these specialists have worked and continue to work at an enterprise or organization.

The law-in-draft adopted in the first reading will be finalized for the second reading.
