Parliamentarians supported the amendments to the Law of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic "On State Pension Provision of Citizens in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" in the second final reading. The law-in-draft was developed by the deputies of the Parliamentary Committee on Social Policy in order to eliminate the ambiguous understanding of the current norms.
According to the current legislation, the period of study is taken into account when calculating the length of service for assigning a pension in Pridnestrovie. Study is understood as full-time education in this case, which is confirmed by a diploma of education. However, there were cases when applicants provided academic certificates or documents on completion of preparatory courses and requested that this period of study be included in the seniority. The law does not provide how to act in such cases.
Now, when assigning a pension, the length of service will include only the period of full-time study at universities, technical schools and colleges, as well as retraining and advanced training courses. The fact of graduation will need at the same time to be confirmed by an appropriate document – a diploma of graduation from an educational institution. The period of part-time study will not be included in the length of service. The specified norms will come into force immediately after signing by the President and official publication.
