The Supreme Council considered two legislative initiatives on amendments to the Law "On Payment for Land". Both relate to provision and management of privileges on payment of land tax.

In the first case, the initiative aims to support established peasant farms. The authors of the initiative were members of the Committee on Agriculture, Transport, Construction, Natural Resources and the Environment. Legislators proposed to provide benefits to pay land tax not new farmers from registration services, as spelled out in the current legislation, but from the moment of allocation of land.

Earlier the current law provides preferential taxation mechanism for the newly created peasant farms: the first year 100%of exemption from payment of land tax, the second year - 75%, the third year - 50%. According to the relevant ministries, there are 1421 peasant farms to date in the country. There are 27 thousand hectares of agricultural land in use.

Presented law-in-draft was unanimously adopted. Profile Committee will continue to work on it in the second reading.

Another legislative initiative was received from the Government. The authors proposed completely exempt residents of rural areas from land tax, that they individually or collectively use provided land for grazing and mowing. The Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Efimy Koval explained the need to change the Law.

Deputy corps supported the Government's initiative and adopted it in two readings.
