27.02.2018

A session of the Council of People's Deputies of the town and district council of Grigoriopol was held. Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba and the deputy for electoral district No. 9 Oleg Leontiev took part in it. The main issue on the agenda was the report of the chairman of the council, Andrei Kovtun on the work of the representative body of local self-government last year.

Grigoriopol deputies are active participants in the legislative process. They take part in the work of parliamentary committees, they also participate in discussions in plenary sessions. Deputies of the Grigoriopol town and district council over the past year expressed their position by preparing conclusions for 500 legislations.

Currently, the Supreme Council continues to work on legislation that regulates the work of local authorities. As Alexander Shcherba underlined, the law "On local government, local self-government and state administration in Pridnestrovie", adopted in the 1990s, is outdated. This prevents heads of cities and districts from effectively performing their functions.

Alexander Shcherba spoke about the need to expand the powers of local authorities, and also paid attention to the mechanism of electivity of heads of local administrations. The head of the legislature urged the Grigoriopol deputies to take an active part in the discussion of these issues.

The speaker noted the need to strengthen the interaction of deputies of all levels.

Deputy head of the local state administration Tatyana Tsurka told deputies about the main economic indicators of the district and city. People's representatives were able to ask the official representative of the executive authority of the issues that concerned them.
