Deputy of the Supreme Council Yuri Kucherenko proposed to change the procedure for settling insurance payments for compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners.
Currently, the amount of damage caused to a vehicle can be established independently without the participation of appraisers by agreement of the parties. It is necessary to sign an agreement between the victim in an accident, the insurer and the perpetrator of the accident to do this. However, the prerequisite for the signature of the perpetrator of an accident in practice often leads to situations when the victim, with an already reached agreement with the insurance company on the amount of the insurance payment, cannot receive compensation for damage. This may be due to the fact that the perpetrator of the accident has left the republic, or for other reasons.
Yuri Kucherenko proposed to change the rule of law and allow an agreement to be concluded on establishing the amount of damage caused as a result of an accident by two parties - the victim and the insurance company.
The deputies of the Supreme Council supported this initiative and adopted the draft law in the first reading.
