13.03.2020

An appeal to Konstantin Zatulin, deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Relations with Compatriots and special representative of the Russian State Duma on migration and citizenship, was adopted today in Tiraspol. The chairman of the Consultative Assembly, the first President of the PMR Igor Smirnov, read the text of the document to the first Pridnestrovian deputies. The founders of the republic thank Konstantin Zatulin for the work done to amend the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which will more likely protect the rights of compatriots who find themselves outside of Russia.

It is important for the Pridnestrovians to be in the political and legal environment of Russia, especially in those matters that concern citizenship. At meetings with representatives of the executive and legislative branches of Russia, the Pridnestrovian leadership has repeatedly raised the issue of simplifying the procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship for residents of Pridnestrovie and providing an opportunity for Russian compatriots living in Pridnestrovie to use maternity capital in our republic.

Russian deputies are considering amendments, according to which for the adoption of Russian citizenship, residents of some CIS countries who moved to live in Russia will not need to renounce the citizenship of another state. The first Pridnestrovian deputies in an appeal to Konstantin Zatulin talk about the relevance of the consideration in the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the issue of obtaining Russian citizenship without renouncing the citizenship of another state and moving to Russia.

March 18 Government Hour will be held in the State Duma of the Russian Federation. It is planned that Konstantin Zatulin will speak at it and will voice the appeal of the deliberative meeting of the first Pridnestrovian deputies.
