Simplified procedure for obtaining a survivor's pension

01.03.2023

The procedure for obtaining a survivor's pension is simplified de jure. It is not required to prove the fact of dependency, including in court. Adult children whose parents have died will only need to contact the Social Insurance Center and submit the necessary documents. The deputies of the Supreme Council supported the legislations of the PMR Prosecutor in the second final reading, taking into consideration the amendments of the Committee on Social Policy.

The new norms will come into force after the official publication and will apply to full-time students under the age of 23 and to adult children who have become disabled until the age of 18 without age restrictions. The simplified procedure for obtaining a survivor's pension prior to the amendments to the legislation was valid only for minor children.

According to the Unified Social Insurance Fund, more than 8000 people in Pridnestrovie receive a survivor's pension, about 3000 of which are minors and students under 23 years of age. The amount of accrual depends on the income that the parent received before death. The size of the survivor's pension is about 1200 rubles per month on average.
