Defense Strengthening (amended)

The opening ceremony of the renovated building of the General Staff of the Armed Forces was timed the 29th anniversary of the creation of the military department. Among invited persons there are the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva.

The Commander-in-Chief of the PMR Armed Forces Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the officers on the new home.

The Defense Minister Oleg Obruchkov thanked the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the Supreme Council and the Government of the republic for allocating the necessary funds. The reconstruction was carried out under the program of the Capital Investment Fund.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Minister of Defense Oleg Obruchkov, leadership of the Supreme Council - Alexander Korshunov and Galina Antyufeyeva - examined the premises of the renewed headquarters. The reconstruction includes the entire complex. A checkpoint was built, three floors were overhauled and a new roof was installed. The building has grown by one floor, it will house an assembly hall, a buffet, a renewed exposition of the Armed Forces museum and a Defense Control Center equipped to all modern standards.
