The PMR CEC: elections in Pridnestrovie were held in compliance with legislation and international electoral standards

The first plenary meeting of the 1st session of the 7th convocation took place today. Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the PMR Viktor Taranov summed up the final results of the elections of deputies of the Supreme Council of the VII convocation and made a report on this topic.

Viktor Taranov announced that a total of 33 electoral districts were formed in the republic, 45 candidates were registered. All of them took part in the elections to the PMR Supreme Council of the VII convocation. Totally 115 205 Pridnestrovians voted, the turnout was 28.06%. The most active voters were in Kamenka and Kamenka district, where the turnout was more than 40%, Dubossary and Dubossary district were in second place - more than 33% voted, in third place Grigoriopol and Grigoriopol district, there the turnout was more than 32%.

4 parliamentarians under the age of 40 will work in the new convocation, 8 deputies under 50 years old, and 21 deputies over 50 years old. Higher education for 32 deputies, secondary education for one.

The voters’ interests were represented by 6 deputies in Bendery and by 6 deputies Slobodzeya district, in the Grigoriopol district - by 3 parliamentarians, from Dubossary and Kamenka districts - by 2 deputies, the interests of residents of Rybnitsa and Rybnitsa district are represented by 5 parliamentarians, in Tiraspol districts in the new convocation there are 9 deputies of the Supreme Council. 

Ten international observers from Russia, Abkhazia and the Republic of Belarus were in Pridnestrovie on the day of elections.

Viktor Taranov noted that international voters were unanimous in their assessments and stated that the elections in Pridnestrovie were held in compliance with the norms of the current electoral legislation and international electoral standards.

The Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission emphasized that no violations that could affect the results of the elections were noted during the voting.
