The Central Bank will know about the loans available to individuals

07.06.2023

The Central Bank of the PMR will be able to receive information from credit and microfinance organizations on the debt burden of individual borrowers. The Pridnestrovian Republican Bank will forward this information to other credit and microfinance institutions, if necessary. Such data will allow assessing the degree of return on credit or loan agreements.

Changes are made to the profile laws “On the Central Bank of the PMR” and “On Banks and Banking Activity”. The author was the deputy of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov. The legislations were developed jointly with specialists from the Central Bank.

It was noted that this practice is widespread, including in the Russian Federation. However, it is carried out in most cases on a commercial basis. It is proposed in the PMR to give the Central Bank the right to notify banks, if necessary, free of charge.

The legislations were adopted today at the plenary session in the first reading. The Committee on Economic Policy will continue to work on them in order to take into account all issues related to the protection of personal data of individuals by the second reading.
