The Central Election Commission announced the results of the elections of the PMR President

79.4% of the Pridnestrovians participating in the elections cast their votes for the current President. Vadim Krasnoselsky was recognized as the elected President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for the next five years. The results of the elections were announced today by the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission Elena Gorodetskaya.

The turnout in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic presidential elections, including early voting, amounted to 143 thousand 54 voters, which is 35.2% of the total number of registered voters in Pridnestrovie. 12 thousand 522 ballots (8.8%) were declared invalid. 113 thousand 620 voters (79.4%) voted for Vadim Krasnoselsky, 16 thousand 914 people (11.8%) voted for the second candidate - Sergei Pynzar.

257 election commissions in total worked at the elections of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic this year. Kamenka district and the city of Kamenka among towns and districts became the leaders in terms of turnout, 45% of voters voted. The second place is taken by Rybnitsa and Rybnitsa district, Grigoriopol - 38%, Dubossary district and Dubossary - 37%, in Tiraspol the turnout was 36%, in Bendery - 32%, Slobodzeya - 31%.

The Head of the Central Election Commission Elena Gorodetskaya in her speech drew attention to the opinion of international observers, who noted that the elections on December 12 were held in compliance with the electoral legislation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, legitimately and transparently.

International observer Richard Burton from Poland states in his conclusion that all citizens with active suffrage were allowed to vote without any discrimination, no facts of direct or indirect restrictions on the right to vote were recorded. Voters, candidates and the public expressed confidence in the electoral process, which is an indicator of genuine democratic elections while ensuring compliance with legal standards. The principle of openness and publicity of elections was sufficiently implemented, the Polish expert said.

Observers from Abkhazia and South Ossetia at the elections got acquainted with the work of precinct election commissions in Tiraspol, Bendery and Slobodzeya district. They noted that the work of precinct election commissions was carried out within the framework of the legislation. The elections were held in an orderly manner, with high voter turnout.

Members of the Federation Council and deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation attended the elections of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

Before the election results were announced, the Central Election Commission members heard complaints from voters. They expressed their disagreement with the fact that the ballots did not contain the column “against all” and that there was no curtain in the booths at the polling stations. According to the members of the Central Election Commission, on December 12, all conditions were created for the implementation of the electoral right. The organization of the elections was carried out in accordance with the norms of the Constitution and electoral legislation. In general, there were no violations recorded at the elections of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
