09.05.2018

73 years have passed since the end of the Great Patriotic War, which took millions of lives. A traditional military parade was held in the main square of Tiraspol in honor of the Great Victory Day. The ceremony of raising the Banner of Victory took place before its beginning. Participation in it was received by President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba, Head of the Government Alexander Martynov, the First President of the PMR Igor Smirnov.

Special words of gratitude are addressed to the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and to the workers of the rear on the holiday. They were the honorary witnesses of the military parade.

Welcoming the participants of the parade and all the Pridnestrovians, the President Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the day of May 9 became a symbol of heroism and solidarity.

The memory of the dead heroes was honored with a minute of silence. Then the legendary T-34 tank passed by tradition in the square. The military men of the armed forces of Pridnestrovie, as well as units of the OGRV, marched behind it. One of the calculations was headed by the deputy of the Supreme Council, chairman of the Pridnestrovian Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan, Igor Buga. For the first time participants of the parade were students of the Tiraspol Suvorov Military School.

At the end of the parade veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the leaders of the republic and Tiraspol residents laid flowers to the granite slabs of the Memorial of Glory. Once again we remembered those who gave us the Great Victory.
