Dear Pridnestrovians!
June 22, 1941 ... This tragic date divided the lives of millions of Soviet people into "before" and "after". One of the most terrible wars in world history, which showed the ruthless and cruel face of fascism, and also showed the world a noble rage and fearlessness, courage and unbending strength of the spirit of people in the struggle for the independence of the Motherland began this day.
The Great Patriotic War left its mark in almost every home. The bitterness of losses did not pass anybody.
Today we pay tribute to the memory of all those who perished in the battles, tortured in fascist captivity, who died behind hunger and wounds.
The history of the Great Patriotic War is inseparable from the history of Pridnestrovie. The soldiers of the Red Army have shown courage and heroism more than once here, on our land. Thousands of soldiers are buried in the mass graves of Pridnestrovian land, thousands are unknown and missing.
This is a harsh lesson for us, now living, a call to value the present and cherish a peaceful future. We mourn. We remember. And the work of our life, our memory, our conscience - to do everything so that the terrible tragedy never happened again.
We bow low to our veterans, to the workers of the rear - to all who, at the cost of heroic efforts, brought the day of the Great Victory nearer. I wish you, dear veterans, good health, long life, love, warmth, attention and care of your loved ones!
