The Pridnestrovian militia celebrates the 30th anniversary of its foundation. The ceremonial events took place on the territory of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The Head of the department, the leadership of the Supreme Council, representatives of the Government and ministries laid flowers at the monument to the employees of the internal affairs agencies who died in the line of duty.
The participants of the anniversary events spoke about the role of the internal affairs bodies in the life of the Pridnestrovian state. The militia officers, along with the Republican Guard, Cossacks, militias and territorial rescue teams, stood up to defend the republic in 1992. 60 employees of the Pridnestrovian militia were injured, 14 of them severely, 16 gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Pridnestrovie. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, protecting the peace of mind of citizens, put their lives at great risk in peacetime.
The staff of the Department of Internal Affairs initially consisted of only 18 employees; they were responsible for organizing effective work to form the law enforcement system of Pridnestrovie. The structure of law enforcement agencies has been changing over the course of 30 years, the solution to the tasks of maintaining law and order, legality on the territory of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and ensuring the security of Pridnestrovians has remained unchanged. The militia officers got involved in the fight against coronavirus infection in 2020.
The distinguished employees were awarded state and departmental awards and new titles today.
A number of laws were adopted to support the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Pridnestrovie. The Supreme Council last year supported initiatives regarding the establishment of allowances for those who work in dangerous conditions during the pandemic. In addition, one day is counted as three working days in the seniority of employees involved in the fight against coronavirus. We are talking about the provision of treatment, examination, care and transportation of carriers of COVID-19 to medical facilities. Due to the complex sanitary and epidemiological situation and the shortage of medical personnel, employees of the internal affairs bodies with medical education can combine service with work in state health care institutions. Amendments to the law "On militia", adopted by the Supreme Council, were signed by the President of the PMR on the 29th of October.
The state helps to solve the housing problem. Local militia inspectors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as specialists under the age of 35 can receive state subsidies for the purchase of housing. The militiamen participate in the presidential program "Affordable Housing", through which they can buy an apartment at a low price in buildings under construction.
