The tragedy must not be repeated

Dubossary has its own Babi Yar. The Nazis rounded up more than 18 thousand people, mostly Jews from various regions of Moldova and Ukraine, and then shot 74 years ago at the place where there is a memorial today. The mass execution of civilians in Dubossary 12 to September 28, 1941 was attended by the German Sonderkommando, the Romanian military occupation administration, the gendarmerie and the police. Residents of the town remember the bloody events of the day, come to the place of mass executions, to pay homage to the memory of victims of fascist terror every year in September days.

Representatives of the Association of Former Ghetto and Concentration Camps of Moldova, members of the Jewish communities of Moldova and Pridnestrovie came to the memorial service on the anniversary of the tragedy. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of PMR Igor Schornikov - Ph.D., historian, author of "The Sonderkommando in Dubossary", which was published three years ago.

The deputy of the Supreme Council of PMR from Dubossary, chairman of “The Obnovlenie” parliamentary faction Peter Pasat had speech at the meeting.
