A memorial sign in Tiraspol, Larionov Street was erected in honor of the founder of the Russian avant-garde. Today is the 140th anniversary of the birth of the famous artist Mikhail Larionov. He was born and raised in Tiraspol. Flowers were laid by the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva, Deputy of the Supreme Council Ilona Tyuryaeva, members of the Union of Artists of Pridnestrovie and activists of the Obnovlenie (Renewal) Party in honor of the anniversary date. It was Tiraspol that left an indelible mark on the artist's work. Larionov easily mastered any genres, invented his own. He also created an atmosphere in which new art was born.
Historical and cultural traditions are honored in Pridnestrovie. The Obnovlenie (Renewal) Party launched a project called Our Compatriots many years ago to preserve them.
A permanent participant in events dedicated to Mikhail Larionov is Deputy of the Supreme Council Ilona Tyuryaeva. It was on her initiative that a memorial sign was erected in Tiraspol, Larionov Street 5 years ago. Rowan and acacia seedlings were planted here in honor of the artist and his wife, the artist Natalia Goncharova. The place at the memorial sign becomes a public garden for the residents of the microdistrict.
The Obnovlenie (Renewal) Party organized several more festive events dedicated to the work of Mikhail Larionov. One of them is an exhibition of reproductions of the artist's paintings. In the Palace of the Republic you can see a kaleidoscope of styles and trends: cubism, rayonism, graphics. There are almost 30 copies of Larionov's works. There are also paintings by contemporary Pridnestrovian artists at the exhibition.
A real plein air of young artists took place today in the foyer of the Palace of the Republic. Students of the A.F. Foinitsky creadet paintings in watercolors, imitating Larionov: the famous and most beautiful views of Tiraspol. Such a task for them was invented by the Obnovlenie (Renewal) Party.
Deputy Ilona Tyuryaeva considers that Pridnestrovians should know our great compatriots. Many amazing people were born in the republic who glorified our land. This is Sklifosovsky, and Zelinsky, and, including Larionov. Many years ago, Ilona Tyuryaeva visited the Tretyakov Gallery, where she saw the early works of Mikhail Larionov. Now the deputy is proud of his work.
Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeyeva, Deputy of the Supreme Council Ilona Tyuryaeva and members of the Union of Artists of Pridnestrovie presented to the participants of the plein air diplomas, prizes and a booklet telling about the life and work of Mikhail Larionov.
