Tiraspol celebrates the Day of Russia on a grand scale

Today, Russians celebrate the main state holiday - the Day of Russia. 28 years ago, the First Congress of People's Deputies of the RSFSR adopted the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Russia, which proclaimed the primacy of the Constitution and its laws. Pridnestrovie is inextricably linked with Russia. We have a common history, culture, traditions. This was said during the meeting, which took place on the central square of the Pridnestrovian capital.

After the ceremony of raising the flag of the Russian Federation, the President Vadim Krasnoselsky addressed the Pridnestrovians. The Head of State expressed his gratitude to Russia from the entire Pridnestrovian people for their assistance in implementing important social projects, and, most importantly, for preserving peace in our republic.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council, Alexander Shcherba, emphasized that thousands of Pridnestrovians gathered at festivities in the capital not under compulsion but at the call of the heart.

Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva believes that as for Russians June 12 is an important holiday for Pridnestrovians. Pridnestrovians confirmed desire to be together with Russia at the referendum in 2006.

A concert "Russia in my Heart" was held on the capital Square. The festive mood of the townspeople was presented by the Pridnestrovian artists.
