229 years have passed since the founding of Tiraspol. The solemn events dedicated to this event traditionally began at the Glory Memorial. President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, members of the Government, deputies, authorities of Tiraspol and residents of the city honored the memory of the soldiers and officers who liberated and defended Tiraspol with a minute of silence. Wreaths and flowers were laid at the Eternal Flame, stone slabs with the names of those killed during the Great Patriotic War, at the graves of the defenders of Pridnestrovie and at the foot of the monument to the Grieving Mother.
According to a new tradition, the laying on of the city of Tiraspol on the day is held at the monument to the Russian Empress Catherine II and at the foot of the monument to the commander Alexander Suvorov. It is their names that are most directly connected with the history of the creation of Tiraspol as a city.
The President congratulated the residents of Tiraspol and noted that the infrastructural transformation of the city continues. At the same time, the work related to the creation of a comfortable and modern urban environment, the arrangement of public space, not only does not alienate the residents of Tiraspol from their past, but also contributes to the preservation of history and familiarization with it, writes the press service of the President of the PMR.
The residents of the Pridnestrovian capital were congratulated by the deputies of the Supreme Council of the republic.
The parliamentarians noted that in recent years the capital has been actively developing, becoming better and more comfortable for residents. The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov emphasized that Tiraspol is becoming a modern city, which corresponds to the level of the capital of the state.
Happy birthday greetings to the Pridnestrovian capital were received from Russia. Tiraspol residents were congratulated by State Duma deputy Sergei Chizhov.
