Terrorism - "the plague of XXI century"

Russian parliamentarians do not disregard world events. Joint meeting of the Federation Council and the State Duma took place in Moscow in the Hall of Columns,. The theme of the meeting was to promote the suppression of terrorism and international crime. For this purpose, according to participants, it is necessary to improve Russian legislation and international law in the sphere of migration policy.

The head of the "The Fair Russia" faction Sergei Mironov proposed to establish the death penalty as a punishment for terrorists and collaborators to ensure the activities of militants who have committed an act of terrorism.

Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov talked about the establishment of international tribunal on terrorism. The sentence for terrorists, according to the parliamentarian should be no statute of limitations, without the possibility of serve a sentence in another country without pardon and amnesty.

According to Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council on Defense Franz Klintsevich both parliamentarians and regional representatives, youth organizations and the clergy have a variety of individual proposals for strengthening the fight against terrorism. The politician considers it necessary to quickly start work on their transformation into specific bills on the sites of the Federation Council and the State Duma.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking from the tribune of the UN General Assembly urged the international community for the creation of an international anti-terrorist coalition. The proposal was supported by the head of state parliamentarians and public figures. The outcome of the joint meeting of the two chambers of the Russian Parliament was the decision in the near future to place for considerations of the State Duma draft laws concerning the tightening of responsibility for terrorism, as well as documents that promote the development of the Russian and the international anti-terrorism legislation.
