First on the agenda of the plenary session, parliamentarians considered the issue of recognizing the deputy powers of the repeated and additional elections to the Supreme Council of the 6th convocation, elected in the course of the October 1 elections, Ruslan Gareev and Yuri Kravchuk. Denis Podgorny, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission, informed about the progress and results of the election campaign of the legislators.
According to the representative of the Central Election Commission, October 1 elections were held in the country both to the legislative and to the local representative bodies of power.
Repeated and additional elections to the legislative body of the republic were held in two constituencies in the city of Bendery. District No. 4 Leninsky, the majority of voters cast their votes for Yuri Kravchuk, who previously represented the interests of citizens in the Benderн City Council, District No. 7 Pervomaisky for Ruslan Gareev, who previously held the post of Assistant to the President of the PMR. As a result of the elections, the Central Election Commission registered newly elected deputies and issued certificates to them. Then the issue of recognizing deputy powers was considered in the course of the meeting of the parliamentary commission on mandates, regulations and deputy ethics.
During the plenary session, the Supreme Council recognized the powers of the newly elected deputies. In accordance with the submitted applications, Yuri Kravchuk joined the parliamentary committee on social policy, healthcare, labor, family and childhood issues, and Ruslan Gareev became a permanent member of the Supreme Council's Committee on Public Associations, Sports, Information and Youth Policy.
The parliamentarians congratulated colleagues on joining the ranks of legislators. The Speaker of the Parliament Alexander Shcherba instructed new deputies to recommend studying the regulations of the legislature, according to which they have the right to vote for or against legislations submitted for consideration, to participate in debates, ask questions and develop their legislative initiatives.
