Tariffs for housing and communal services for the population should remain the same

09.09.2020

Tariffs for housing and communal services for the population in 2021 should remain at this year's level. This is the general opinion of the entire deputy corps, which will be taken into account when forming the budget for the next year. The state spends extra money to support Pridnestrovians and prevent reduction in their income. At the same time, it is necessary to preserve stability of the work of communal enterprises of the republic. A mechanism for compensating the inter-tariff difference has been functioning for several years in order for housing and communal services enterprises to work effectively.

Compensation for the inter-tariff difference allows utilities to operate without loss or accumulate debts. In addition, all networks must be maintained in proper condition and repairs must be carried out on time. One of the important issues that, in the opinion of the deputies, should be reflected in the formation of the budget for next year is the replacement of elevators in high-rise buildings. The Head of the profile committee Anton Onufrienko considers that targeted state program should be developed for this. The issue has been discussed in the Supreme Council for a long time, but implementation of the idea has been postponed due to lack of funding.

According to the head of the profile committee, first of all, the elevators should be replaced where the degree of wear is the highest. Elevators have been operating for 35-40 years in some high-rise buildings. The problem is urgent and it is directly related not only to the quality of services, but also to the safety of Pridnestrovians living in high-rise buildings.
