"The Candle of Memory": the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War was honored in Pridnestrovie

"At 4 o'clock in the morning without declaring war..." Nazi Germany attacked the USSR, the Great Patriotic War began82 years ago, on June 22. 

The all-republican mass event is held every year on June 22, in Pridnestrovie, in memory of the mournful date. Thousands of people in all corners of Pridnestrovie gather at memorials to remember the feat of the fallen heroes, lay flowers and light candles on this night. The memory of the terrible years of the Great Patriotic War and the pain of loss are alive in the hearts of Pridnestrovians. The war touched every family.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Galina Antyufeeva, heads of ministries and departments, peacekeepers, members of the Youth Army and Suvorov, representatives of public and youth organizations came to the capital's Memorial of Glory at 4 o'clock in the morning. They gathered together to remember and honor the memory of the dead, light candles and lay flowers.

"The Candle of Memory" mass event unites generations, echoing the past, building bridges between the present and the future. Schoolchildren and students, listening to stories about the war and participating in patriotic events, learn to value peace and remember that millions of Soviet soldiers and civilians won it back from the Nazis at the cost of their lives.
