Strategic document adopted

The agricultural sector is the third in the list of the leading branches of the republic after heavy and light industry. Improvement of the agro-industrial complex needed for a long time. The agro-industrial complex is one of the priority directions in the development strategy of the republic for the next eight years. In order to legislatively fix the targets of the strategy, the Supreme Council adopted the draft law “On Approval of the State Program for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex 2019–2026”. This document was developed by the Government on behalf of the President. Deputies of the Supreme Council took an active part in the work on the creation of the program. According to the legislators, the implementation of the program will ensure food security and self-sufficiency of the republic, increase the volume of production of its own agricultural products, increase exports.

The sources of financing include own or borrowed funds of enterprises, as well as subsidies. Farmers will be able to receive concessional loans for the development of livestock, horticulture, fruit and vegetable production from the State Reserve Fund. It is planned to achieve high rates of production of agricultural products.

The program of development of the agro-industrial complex adopted by parliamentarians includes a set of measures to support villages. It is about employment in the industry, infrastructure, as well as the development of rural tourism. Deputies note: the joint work of the President, legislative and executive branches of government should give positive results.

What will be the implementation of the state program depends largely on the actions of the executive branch of government, according to parliamentarians. What results of the adopted strategic document, time will tell. The document was sent for signature to the President.
