Persistence, courage and heroism

Dear internationalist warriors,

Afghan war veterans!

On behalf of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and me personally let me congratulate you on the 31st anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan.

Thirty-one years ago, the last column of a limited contingent of Soviet troops left Afghanistan. Thousands of kilometers from the homeland, our warriors, having shown heroic stamina, courage and selflessness, were the first to challenge international terrorism. Soviet soldiers left Afghanistan, completing a combat mission, leaving behind the restored cities and villages, roads, schools.

This day, we pay tribute to our countrymen who participated in the settlement of military conflicts in the territories of near and far abroad. Their valor and heroism are for us a striking example of patriotism and fidelity to the military oath.

Knowing the past, taking into account the new lessons of history, we value and remember the international feat of brave and courageous soldiers and officers who gave their lives in the service of the Fatherland.

I wish the internationalist warriors, war veterans good health, prosperity and a peaceful sky above your head!
