Deputies of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic considered law-in-draft on amendments and additions to the law “On state support for large families” in the first reading. The initiative was prepared by deputies of the Committee on Legislation, Protection of Rights and Freedoms of Citizens Galina Antyufeyeva, Gregory Dyachenko and Oleg Petrik. It was presented by one of the authors, deputy Gregory Dyachenko in the course of the plenary session.
The deputies proposed to include in the law a rule according to which citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic who have been registered at the place of residence in the state for at least one year will be able to obtain the status of a large family and use state support measures on an equal basis with those registered or registered at the place of residence in the republic.
The legislative initiative appeared after an appeal from citizens. According to the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, 12 families cannot obtain today the status of a large family and all the benefits and support from the state with it. Precisely because the period of their registration or registration in the territory of Pridnestrovie is less than one year.
According to the current version of the law “On State Support for Large Families”, large families and their members are provided with a number of rights and benefits as social support. Discounts on utility bills, free prescription medications for children from large families under 6 years of age (according to the list approved by the Ministry of Health of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic), free travel on all types of urban and suburban transport for schoolchildren and students from large families, compensation for each a first-grader child for the purchase of school and writing supplies in the amount of 100 minimum wages, free vouchers to the parents’ place of work, vouchers to children’s health camps and to sanatorium-resort treatment. As well as preferential taxation in accordance with the current tax legislation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and free education in children's music and art schools, children's art schools.
Parliamentarians in the course of the plenary meeting agreed with the legislative initiative. Work on it will continue. If adopted, amendments to the law “On State Support for Large Families” will come into force on January 1, 2025.
