The Parliament Speaker on the importance of the law to support arrivals from Ukraine

20.04.2023

The PMR Supreme Council adopted a year ago, on April 20, 2022, the law on state support for citizens who arrive in our republic from Ukraine for a temporary stay here. The PMR Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov commented on the importance of the adoption and operation of this law.

“Pridnestrovie is a small multinational country. Russians, Ukrainians, Moldavians, Bulgarians, Jews and other nationalities live here. Most of the families are multinational, they have relatives both in Moldova and Ukraine. We have everything nearby. We could not ignore the situation when people were looking for a peaceful and peaceful life for their children and their families, of course. Pridnestrovie is a social state. Most of the republican budget goes to social payments – pensions, allowances, maintenance of hospitals, clinics, schools and kindergartens. That is why the leadership of our republic –the President, the Supreme Council, and the Government – considered it very important to provide social assistance to Ukrainian citizens that is feasible for our state. The law provides for the opportunity to live and eat free of charge in temporary residences, simplified employment and medical examinations, social assistance for the elderly, free food in kindergartens and schools for children who can study in both Russian and Ukrainian. Pridnestrovians are ready to provide assistance, and support measures will be in effect as long as they are needed by Ukrainian citizens fleeing hostilities,” the speaker of the Pridnestrovian Parliament noted.
