Chairman of the Supreme Soviet Alexander Korshunov held a telephone conversation with the Head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergei Neverov. The parliamentarians discussed several issues.
One of the issues concerned organization and conduct of voting in Pridnestrovie on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Alexander Korshunov noted the high activity of citizens of the Russian Federation living in Pridnestrovie. 12.5 thousand people voted during three days - from June 29 to July 1. Many people came from other cities to Tiraspol to vote. Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov expressed concern about the fact that only one section was organized in Pridnestrovie. The speaker of the parliament noted that Russian citizens living in Pridnestrovie are happy to participate in the electoral processes of the Russian Federation, therefore, in the future it is desirable to organize more places for voting.
Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov in the conversation with his Russian colleague Sergei Neverov discussed the topic of allowances for pensioners from the humanitarian tranche that annually comes to the republic from Russia. The leadership of the republic is concerned that this year funds for these purposes have not yet been received from Moscow. Alexander Korshunov asked the Head of the United Russia faction Sergei Neverov to help resolve this issue.
Another aspect of the conversation between parliamentarians is the situation in the economy. The Chairman of the PMR Supreme Council said that the situation in the republic had worsened not only due to the impact of the global economic crisis and the coronavirus pandemic. This year, drought, frosts and flooding hit the Pridnestrovian cities and villages. This led to under-receipt of funds in the revenue side of the state budget, and the elimination of the consequences of these natural disasters led to additional, unplanned expenses of the state budget. The current situation, according to the Speaker, raises concerns. Alexander Korshunov voiced a request to the Russian Federation to consider the possibility of providing humanitarian or technical assistance to Pridnestrovie.
The Head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergey Neverov assured that he would discuss all the issues raised in the conversation with the leadership of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and Russian presidential executive office.
