Training on the protection of the rights of citizens with disabilities was held in Tiraspol. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pridnestrovie and the UN Office for Human Rights. Representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry for Social Protection and Labor, heads of social institutions took part in the training. Deputy of the Supreme Council Petr Pasat became the participant of the seminar.
It was noted during the seminar: there are about 20 thousand citizens with disabilities in our republic. Legislation provides for a number of benefits for them. There are day care institutions for children with disabilities, rehabilitation centers in the Republic. Participants of the training were told that it is necessary to establish effective interaction of all involved organizations in order to change the lives of people with disabilities for the better.
Representing the interests of the residents of Dubossary in the main legislative body of the republic, Deputy Petr Pasat told journalists that the public organization "Tsvetik-Semitsvetik" works successfully in the city. The organization's activists, with the support of Russia, are holding a creative festival in Dubossary that brings together children from all over the country-students of specialized correctional institutions. The main goal of this creative platform is to create conditions for self-realization and socialization of children with special needs for life.
The organization conducts similar seminars in our republic since 2016. The program was developed on the basis of one of the directions of the report of the UN senior expert on human rights Thomas Hammarberg.
