We do not always remember their names. Sometimes we do not even look at their badges. We remember how they look us in the eyes. How accurately they ask questions. How they can calm us down with one word.

Doctors, nurses, paramedics, lab technicians – those who are there at the most vulnerable moment - celebrate Medical Worker's Day. In Pridnestrovie, this holiday is traditionally celebrated on the third Sunday of June – this year it falls on June 15.

Deputy for this district and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeeva came to Tiraspol to congratulate the teams of three medical institutions of the district No.25 “Zapadny” – the medical center “Medin”, polyclinic No.6 State Institution and the State Institution “Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology”.

The deputy presented state and departmental awards, letters of gratitude on behalf of the President and the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in a solemn atmosphere.

The value of such meetings is not only in the awards, but also in the opportunity to hear the stories of people in white coats. For example, Albina Pikulenko, an otolaryngologist at the medical center “Medin”, has been working in her specialty for 13 years. She has been teaching at Pridnestrovian State University for the same period of time.

Another story is that of Antonina Fomina, a pediatrician at the polyclinic No.6 of the State Institution. Antonina has been working in pediatrics for over 32 years. She talks about her profession without big words, but with complete confidence in the correctness of her choice. The meeting continued with a concert by the orchestra of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Musical works were performed for medical workers as a musical "thank you" for their work, which is not measured in hours and weekends.
