The draft national budget 2019 was discussed during a workshop with the President. Representatives of the legislative and executive branches of government, as well as the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank, were invited to a joint conversation, the website of the PMR President informs. The Parliament Speaker Alexander Shcherba, head of the relevant parliamentary committee Alexander Korshunov took part in the meeting.
The head of the executive body Alexander Martynov told about how the government sees the republican budget for next year. The speaker stated that, despite a certain economic growth that was outlined this year, the 2019 budget will not be easy. At the same time, the chairman of the government noted that under the condition that the state would preserve all social obligations, development should also be considered. In this regard, the government proposes to provide in the budget for next year funds to finance a number of significant programs and projects. Priorities include capital construction, development of entrepreneurship (especially in the sphere of agriculture), as well as the real sector of the economy.
Speaking about the possibility of increasing the size of wages, Alexander Martynov recalled that from November 1 this year, salaries will be higher for certain categories of doctors, and from 2019 the salaries of emergency medical personnel will also increased. The corresponding law-in- was supported by the deputies in the plenary session of October 10. Itis planned next year to maintain 100-ruble supplements to pensions, the size of which is below the subsistence level.
Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba called the draft budget submitted by the government balanced, adding that the deputies agree with the main macroeconomic indicators. However, a number of points need to be discussed and clarified, the speaker said.
The President, in turn, focused the Supreme Council and the Government on the most consolidated work on the main financial document, the effectiveness of which will largely determine the prospects for the development of the Pridnestrovian economy in the near future.
