The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vadim Krasnoselsky held a regular meeting dedicated to increasing the level of wages for healthcare workers, according to the official website of the President. The dialogue was attended by Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, head of the Committee on Economic Policy Viktor Guzun and head of the Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare Sergei Cheban.
The pilot salary project implemented at the Republican Clinical Hospital was discussed in the course of the meeting. According to chief physician Igor Tostanovsky, 200 rates were cut during the optimization process, while not a single employee was fired. Salaries increased by 47-57%. The number of hospital employees increased from 1077 to 1116 during the operation of the new payment system. In total, 65 out of 670 hospital beds in the Republican Clinical Hospital were closed. This is explained by the fact that the medical institution is a basic republican hospital. There is a surplus of beds in the republic as a whole at the same time, the meeting participants noted.
17 organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Healthcare currently are gradually introducing a new wage system. It is planned to switch to a pilot salary project from April 1 of this year. According to Healthcare Minister Kristina Albul, the staffing table has already been revised and the available bed capacity has been monitored. Preliminary calculations have been made for each of the 17 organizations for the additional costs of the state to launch the pilot project.
Clinics require increased attention, the President considers. To assess the load and control the quality of service provision, a modern electronic accounting system will be needed, it was noted at the meeting. Work in this direction is underway.
