Understand the real situation

The Supreme Council held a presentation of the first section of the Budget and Tax Policy Concept 2018 prepared by the Government and medium-term perspective. As Prime Minister Alexander Martynov explained the deputies, this section is devoted to the retrospective of the Pridnestrovian economy, since 2002, it also analyzed the causes that led to the current state of affairs.

Maria Glushkova Deputy Minister of Economic Development told in figures how the system of public finances developed over the past 15 years. The analysis carried out by the Government showed once again: we consume more than we produce. The deformed structure of expenditures, which for the most part are socially protected, has led to a critical budget deficit. According to government officials, the economy is in a deep systemic crisis.

The deputies said in response: the present situation in the republic is well known to all Pridnestrovians. The parliamentarians were more interested in what the government is proposing to overcome the crisis, how it plans to increase GDP and create more comfortable business conditions, as far as the next steps are coordinated with the people's program of Vadim Krasnoselsky.

As the head of Government explained, the Government will present its vision of the solution of the problems accumulated in the economy in the near future in the second section of the Concept of fiscal policy.
