Parents whose children died as a result of the fighting in 1992 will be provided with benefits. The corresponding law-in-draft within the framework of the plenary session was adopted by the Supreme Council in the second reading. As previously noted by the author of the legislative initiative, the parliamentarian Oleg Bayev, earlier this category of citizens did not enjoy state support.
The list of preferences that parents without children can use is similar to the one that is defined by the current legislation for PMR defenders and members of their families. During the consideration of the law-in-draft, the parliamentarians, of course, expressed their understanding that the provided benefits will not compensate the loss of the child. And yet they will serve to improve the social status of this category of Pridnestrovians.
The law-in-draft amends a number of tax laws. Therefore, it must be considered in the third reading for final adoption.
