Social support for Pridnestrovians

The "Obnovlenie" parliamentary faction held its first online meeting today. This is due to the worsening epidemiological situation and the increased number of patients with COVID-19.

Social legislations are included to the agenda. They were introduced to the deputies of the Obnovlenie parliamentary faction by the Head of the Committee on Social Policy Sergei Cheban. A legislative initiative on the possibility of providing wheelchairs and prosthetic and orthopedic products that come to Pridnestrovie as humanitarian aid, not only to disabled people, but also to elderly Pridnestrovians is proposed in the first reading.

It noted that the Government has amendments that will be worked out by the second reading of the draft law “On introducing amendments to the PMR Law“ On social protection of veterans and elderly people ”.

Deputies of the faction discussed legislations on medical examination of the population, preferential lending to combatants who became disabled, on reforming the procedure for paying benefits for pregnancy and childbirth, temporary disability to employees of micro-enterprises and individual entrepreneurs, as well as adjusting the costs and revenues of the republican budget for 2020 were discussed. The need to make changes is connected with unforeseen costs of combating COVID-19 and drought that negatively affected the harvest.
