The task force of the Russian troops in Pridnestrovie celebrated its anniversary. The Russian military organized a gala concert, invited guests. Deputies of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, Oleg Belyakov, Igor Buga, Oleg Bayev and Ivan Nedelkov arrived to congratulate the Russian military on the 25th anniversary of the formation of the OGRV. They took part in the unveiling of the monument “For the participation of OGRV military personnel in the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester”. At the top of the black granite monument is a stone eagle. He repeats the image of the Monument of Russian Glory, which was built in Bendery in 1912 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Borodino at the expense of soldiers and officers of the 55th Podolsky Infantry Regiment.
The PMR Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov noted that the Task Force of the Russian forces is the basis of the Russian peacekeeping contingent. It honorably copes with the task of maintaining peace and stability in the republic.
According to the Head of the OGRV in Pridnestrovie Dmitry Zelenkov, military personnel take part in Victory parades and large-scale historical reconstructions. On the territory of the military town there are samples of weapons and military equipment, "Partisan Village", a shooting range. Pridnestrovian schoolchildren constantly come for excursions. They also visit the Museum of Glory dedicated to OGRV, the peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie and the modern army.
OGRV was formed on July 1, 1995 on the basis of the 14th Guards Combined Arms Red Banner Army. It was stationed in Tiraspol and played a key role in resolving the Moldovan- Pridnestrovian conflict in 1992.
