Preserving the historical continuity

The author of the law-in-draft, chairman of the Committee on Social Policy Sergey Cheban notes: the need for legislative initiative was caused by numerous appeals of citizens.

The parliamentarian proposes to provide the children of the war a certain list of social services, including incentives for utility payments, free provision of medicines, provision of free vouchers to the resort, as well as the possibility of preferential use of public transport. The draft law provides for the issuance of special permits to confirm the status.

Despite the importance of the law-in-draft, a negative opinion from the government was received. The main reason is lack of funding source. Sergey Cheban emphasized that those citizens are pensioners who are granted privileges and so on utility bills. This paragraph will not cause additional costs. According to the the Deputy it is possible to find free medicines, properly redistributing funds invested in medicine.

At the end, the law-in-draft was adopted in the first reading. The parliamentarians expressed desire to work with the Government to continue working in this direction.
