Save the memory of Victory for the young generation

Photos from the fronts, historical chronicles are invaluable living evidence of the war, on which new generations must be brought up, and visualization of the events of the Great Patriotic War will help young people study history more effectively, said First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Alexander Zhukov, speaking at the plenary meeting of the VIII Christmas Parliamentary Meetings. The event was organized as part of the XXVIII International Christmas Educational Readings on the theme "Great Victory: Heritage and Heirs".

Until recently, it was impossible to imagine that anyone in the world would question the significance of the Victory over Nazism and the role of our country in this, the parliamentarian continued.

It is important to preserve this memory and pass it on to future generations. This is one of the cornerstones of patriotic education. It should be aimed at all segments of the population, all age groups, the parliamentarian said.

Alexander Zhukov urged, in connection with the great interest in society, to show on television and in movies more historical chronicle to the events of the Great Patriotic War.

International Christmas educational readings - the largest church and public forum, which discusses the most important issues of church and public life in the field of education, culture, social service and spiritual and moral education. Its participants were 184 dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church. The final stage was held from January 26 to 29, 2020 in Moscow.
