Payment for category

The Supreme Council adopted in two readings the legislations concerning the payment of bonuses for the qualification category of teachers, including heads of preschool education organizations. So, for example, if a kindergarten teacher is given a bonus for his qualification category, then when the teacher is appointed to the position of head, this payment will remain.

The bonus established for a primary school teacher who transferred to work as a teacher in a kindergarten will remain. In addition, the legislation will now stipulate that the bonus for the qualification category, which is assigned to a pedagogical worker in the position of “teacher” of a subject area, will be paid when working as a “teacher” of the same subject area, and vice versa.

Teachers confirm qualification categories every 5 years. If there was a change in position or place of work during this period previously, then they lost the bonus for the category.

Changes to the legislation were initiated by deputies of the Legislation Committee Galina Antyufeeva and Oleg Petrik based on requests. Amendments have been made to the laws “On Education” and “On Wages of Public Sector Employees, Monetary Allowances for Military Personnel and Persons Equal to Them under the Conditions of Payments of Monetary Allowances, and Salary of State Civil Servants”. The new norms will come into force in January next year after signing.
