The Intermunicipal Cooperation Agreement

Chairmen of the city and district Councils of Pridnestrovie signed the Agreement on intermunicipal cooperation and the establishment of the “Council of Municipal Formations of the PMR” Association. The Tiraspol City Council, which initiated the creation of the new Association, will represent the interests of the association at meetings with representatives of associations of other countries.

The new for Pridnestrovie Association will coordinate the activities of the Councils of People's Deputies, hold events on social protection issues, develop and implement projects in the field of local self-government, provide legal, methodological and organizational assistance to the parties to the agreement, as well as exchange experience with associations of municipalities of the regions of the Russian Federation and foreign countries.

It is planned in the near future to hold meetings with the President of the International Assembly of Capitals and Large Cities, with the All-Russian Council of Local Self-Government of the Russian Federation and other organizations that unite local self-government bodies.

Our parliamentary delegation plans to take part in the interregional week at the site of the Federation Council of Russia. The delegation will also include representatives of local self-government bodies of the republic. Earlier, the city and district Councils of People's Deputies of Pridnestrovie prepared and sent their proposals to the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, with which Russian regions and cities they would like to establish contacts at the intermunicipal level.
