A meeting of the Collegium of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held in the small hall of the Palace of the Republic. It coincided with celebration, by analogy with Russia, the fifth time for the professional holiday of diplomats - the Day of Diplomatic Worker. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky, Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations Mikhail Burla, First Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Kirova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov, official representatives of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in Pridnestrovie Alexander Vataman and Vitaly Yankovsky, heads of ministries and departments estimated the work of the Foreign Ministry during last year.
Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev and his deputy Oleksandr Stetsyuk made reports. Last year, as before, Pridnestrovian diplomats worked in two main areas: the negotiation process and bilateral relations. As for the first, during the reporting period, 29 meetings of representatives on political issues, 85 meetings of expert (working) groups and subgroups on confidence-building measures and developing interaction were organized.
On behalf of the Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov, the head of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Culture, Mikhail Burla, congratulated the Pridnestrovian diplomats on their professional holiday. He presented them the welcome address of the speaker.
Alexander Korshunov wished the Foreign Ministry employees well-being and successful activity for the benefit of the republic.
Parliamentarian Mikhail Burla noted the great contribution of the diplomatic department in the development of the state.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia Oleg Vasnetsov noted the great work done in the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian settlement.
At the same time, Oleg Vasnetsov touched upon the work of the consular service in Tiraspol, expressing gratitude for the proposals to improve its efficiency.
The President began his speech with congratulations to the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on their professional holiday. Vadim Krasnoselsky reminded that the main goals and objectives of the work of the foreign ministry were determined by the Pridnestrovian Development Strategy for the next 8 years.
This document also defines the principles for building our state’s relations with Ukraine, the European Union, Moldova and the Russian Federation as a strategic partner. After the opening of the official representative office of our republic in Moscow, the president set a similar task for Kiev and Brussels.
