Residents of Slobodzeya celebrated City Day

Slobodzeya is 254 today. Festive events were organized for the townspeople. A prayer service was held at the chapel in honor of the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the morning. Then mass celebrations began on Arcade Square.

Residents and guests of the city were congratulated by Supreme Council Deputy Pavel Shinkaryuk, who represents the interests of Slobodzeya residents in the Parliament. The parliamentarian noted that the holiday unites everyone: residents of both the Russian and Moldovan parts of the city, those who were born and raised in Slobodzeya, who came here and stayed here forever.

It was said at the celebration that the greatest value of the city has always been and remains its inhabitants. People who have worked actively for the benefit of Slobodzeya for many years were honored today, as well as the golden anniversaries of married life and athletes.

A bike ride was organized, in which students from city schools and the Slobodzeya Polytechnic College took part. In addition, a traditional checkers tournament was held. Wine and grape festival was held in honor of the holiday. An exhibition of works by folk craftsmen was organized on Arcade Square.

Residents of the city watched the concert “With love for you, dear Slobodzeya.” Festive events in the city will continue in the evening.
