08.05.2019

The republic will celebrate one of the main holidays - the Day of the Great Victory tomorrow. A solemn concert was held at the Palace of the Republic on the eve of the celebration of the 74th anniversary of the end of World War II.

The President Vadim Krasnoselsky and his wife, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov, deputies, government leaders, veterans, rear workers, and public figures of the republic came to express gratitude to the veterans and honor the memory of the fallen defenders.

Vadim Krasnoselsky called on all Pridnestrovians to stand tomorrow in the column of the Immortal Regiment, walk the streets with portraits of heroes, lay flowers at the memorial, thereby paying tribute to the defenders of the Fatherland.

From the stage they noted: the memory of the war and its heroes-liberators is stored in works of art, music, poems, songs and films. Today Pridnestrovian artists sang songs of the war years, compositions dedicated to the Great Victory and veterans. There was music performed by the Pridnestrovian State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Grigory Moseyko. The song about the victory was performed by the state choir.

The speakers praised the feat of Leningrad, who bravely survived the blockade. They recalled the liberators of Odessa, Moscow, Volgograd, Sevastopol. Only 12 cities were awarded the highest degree of distinction "Hero City". Their inhabitants showed perseverance and heroism to the whole world.
