How much will gas, light, water and heat cost in 2021?

28.05.2020

The Head of the Ministry of Economic Development Sergei Obolonik today presented to the deputies a project on the formation of the cost of services of enterprises of natural monopolies for next year. Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov noted the position of deputies: the cost of services for electricity, water and gas for the population should not increase. But it is also impossible to leave enterprises without revenues for the services provided.

The Minister of Economic Development emphasized: it is not planned to increase the established tariffs for the services of enterprises of natural monopolies for the population of Pridnestrovie. The cost of a kilowatt-hour of electricity, cubic meters of gas and cubic meters of water for residents of the republic will remain at the level of this year. The inter-tariff difference, that is the difference between the real cost of the service that the population pays will be paid from the state budget.

Financing of inter-tariff differences is enshrined in the budget annually. Enterprises of natural monopolies repair networks and infrastructure, pay wages. Reducing this item of budget expenditures for this year will not stop the work of public utilities, there will be enough money both for the volume of capital repairs at the level of last year and for raising salaries for employees. How much money will be budgeted in 2021 to cover the inter-tariff difference is still being discussed.

The Ministry of Economic Development proposes next year to increase the cost of services of enterprises of natural monopolies for industrial enterprises, business entities and budget organizations. The numbers are different: for example, by 21% for heat supply and by 5.5% for water consumption. Oleg Leontyev, the Head of the Committee on Agriculture, does not agree with this proposal.

Deputies of the Supreme Council and representatives of the Government will continue to discuss tariff policy for next year to take into account all the comments and suggestions.
