The situation of increasing the cost of education at Pridnestrovian State University is under control of the PMR President

The President Vadim Krasnoselsky is against changing the terms of the contract for paid education at Pridnestrovian State University in the middle of the academic year. The PMR President wrote about this in his telegram channel.

The deputies on March 20 discussed with the rector of Pridnestrovian State University Vladislav Sokolov and representatives of the Government the Government Decree on increasing the cost of education for contract students of the Pridnestrovian State University from March 3 and the order of the rector on additional payment of tuition fees until May 1 in the course of the meeting of the Committee on Education, Public Associations and the Media. The deputies of the profile committee opposed this position, emphasizing that the increase should not have come into force in the middle of the academic year. Chairman of the Education Committee Igor Buga noted that the way out of the situation should be different.

The cost of education under contract at Pridnestrovian State University was increased due to the fact that the special fund, which is formed at the expense of paid services, does not have enough money to increase the salaries of university teachers. The deputies of the Committee proposed to the Government a number of solutions that will help both contract students to complete the academic year without additional payments, and university teachers to receive increased salaries set by law. The Government in the near future will discuss and calculate all options. They will decide soon which one will be accepted.
