Drift Penalty

13.04.2022

The definition of "dangerous driving" and penalties for it will appear in the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The parliamentarians considered and adopted the law-in-draft in the first reading today.

The author of the initiative, the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, proposes to classify repeated violations of traffic rules as dangerous driving. It was provided that violations occur in a short period of time and follow each other. First of all, we are talking about failure to comply with the requirement to give way when rebuilding, rebuilding with heavy traffic, non-observance of a safe distance, sudden braking, if it is not required to prevent a traffic accident, and behavior that poses a threat to life and health of people or causing material damage. It is also proposed to include drift on the roads in the category of "dangerous driving" - this is a deliberately controlled skidding of a car.

However, according to representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and deputies of the relevant parliamentary Committee, the criteria for the very term "dangerous driving" need to be clarified now. This can only be recorded with the help of a photo or video as for repeated violations.

Dangerous driving and deliberately controlled skidding increase the risk of traffic. It is proposed in order to avoid the creation of emergencies to establish administrative liability for drifting higher than for violating other prohibitions provided for by the Rules of the Road - a fine of 50 to 100 minimum wage. This is from 920 to 1840 rubles.
