The parliamentary and governmental delegation of Pridnestrovie is on working visit in Moscow. Within its framework, Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Korshunov and the Head of the parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance Oleg Vasilaty met on April 16 in the State Duma with the vice-speaker of the lower house of the Russian parliament, the Head of the United Russia parliamentary faction Sergei Neverov and the State Duma Deputy Alexander Yaroshuk. Both of them represent the interests, including Russian compatriots living in Pridnestrovie in the legislature, have repeatedly visited our republic.
Pridnestrovian deputies in the course of the conversation with Alexander Yaroshuk discussed the provision of various kinds of assistance to our republic, including in the development of electric transport. So far, a certain delay in this has been caused by electoral processes in neighboring Moldova and Ukraine. Alexander Yaroshuk, who was elected to the State Duma on the single voting day at the by-election on September 9, 2018, expressed readiness to visit Pridnestrovie in the near future in order to meet with his voters. Such a case is likely to be presented: from 16 to 18 May, the Pridnestrovian international youth forum "Tiras-2019" will be held. Russian politicians, deputies, public figures are expected to take part in it.
The Supreme Council Chairman Alexander Korshunov thanked the Russian counterpart for the comprehensive assistance provided to Russia by the Pridnestrovian people, noting that it is now more highly-valued than ever.
The Parliament Speaker also said that in the second half of the year, parliamentary hearings on Pridnestrovie would be initiated at the Russian State Duma. Alexander Korshunov proposed to intensify cooperation between the relevant committees of the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the PMR Supreme Council to conclude memorandums of cooperation.
Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Sergey Neverov at the beginning of the meeting with the deputies from Pridnestrovie congratulated Alexander Korshunov on his election as Chairman of the Supreme Council, expressing hope that he would justify the high confidence of his colleagues in Parliament.
Representatives of the Supreme Council also held meetings with the patriarch of the Russian policy, LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky and State Duma Deputy, member of the United Russia parliamentary faction Sergei Chizhov.
The busy schedule of events planned for today is meeting in the Moscow City Duma, with the leadership of the Russian World Foundation. Alexander Korshunov intends to discuss a number of topical issues with representatives of the Pridnestrovian community and the student community.
